Located in the Superior National Forest, the Poplar Creek Guesthouse offers a secluded location approximately 28 miles from Grand Marais, Minn. This bed and breakfast overlooks Little Ollie Lake and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and is positioned adjacent to the Lima Mountain birding area.
This North Shore-style inn sits on a glacial esker, and offers views of a quiet, canoe-only lake. Full, complimentary breakfasts, including a fresh fruit plate, hot breakfast entrée, two meat side dishes and a dessert, are served daily in the sunroom or dining area. Lunch and dinner are available for a fee. Mission-style furnishings and decor are featured throughout the house. A sitting room offers a gas fireplace and a bookcase with books and board games. A water-view deck and a furnished kitchenette with a dining area are also available.
Guestrooms are located on the second floor of the guesthouse, along with a shared common area. All rooms include private bathrooms, with Dorothy's Room offering a two-person shower with a rain forest showerhead. Dorothy's Room also features a couch, desk and a round table with two chairs.
